Black & White - One in Colour

Welcome to Rasmus Refer's latest exhibition, Black & White – One in Color, which evokes memories of Steven Spielberg’s film "Schindler's List" from 1993, where the sequences with the little girl, in the red coat, are the only images in colour in an otherwise black and white film. It is an effect that is also used masterfully in the French film from 1956, "Le Ballon Rouge", where a little boy follows a red balloon around the grey streets of Paris.

In the exhibition, Rasmus Refer plays with the opposition, interaction and interplay between the black and white documentary universe and colour. His black and white reliefs in acrylic, and his sculptures in patinated bronze, corten steel and granite, are strictly contrasted with a single effective element in colour. About Rasmus Refer:

Rasmus is 53 years old, and has been brought up immersed in an artistic environment by his father, sculptor and artist Jens Refer, and his uncle - recently deceased artist Peter Bonnén. After a career as an entrepreneur in advertising and IT projects, he decided, just over a year ago, to give in to his inner passion and prioritize art. ArtParking2 is his second Pop Up Solo exhibition in the parking garage at Sank Annæ Plads, developed in collaboration with Jens Vinther, Backyard Art. In addition, he has just entered into an agreement for a permanent collaboration with Galleri Weinberger Schandorff, Esplanaden 8D, 1263 Copenhagen, where he will participate in the gallery's group exhibition "Artwork Orange", which has its premiere on 24 June and will be on display until 19 August, 2023.
